Alcove and Alcove Plus

When the Alcove sofa was launched in 2006 by Vitra, it immediately became a milestone in furniture design by blurring the differences between the home and office environment, creating a room in a room. Fifteen years later, the Alcove family has grown, now offering even more solutions for the modern workspace, such as a new system of panels, desks, sofas with wheels and other solutions that combine functionality, comfort and quality acoustics.

Designed by the duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the system was instrumental in creating the mobile micro-architecture category now has two versions, Alcove (used in projects such as Deloitte Digital Porto) and Alcove Plus. While the first feature a visible frame, the second has a concealed frame and floor-length panels.

Learn more about the system in this interview with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.

Bringing the sofa into the office was like plugging in a Marshall amplifier in the middle of an empty stage.
