ConvaTec

General Contractor: Vector Mais
Project: CBRE
Size: 2.370 m²
Location: Lisbon

With a history that dates back to the 1960s, ConvaTec is a multinational company focused on creating innovative products and technologies to improve the lives of people with chronic diseases. With around 10.000 employees spread across five continents, the company recently installed its global services in Lisbon.

Located on Avenida Duque de Loulé, the ConvaTec office was built by Vector Mais, with a project by CBRE. The workspace, spread over four floors, stands out for its modernity, fluidity and for offering a great diversity of areas that promote collaboration.

As a general contractor, Vector Mais rehabilitated the interiors, preparing them to respond to the needs of the dynamic ConvaTec team and the new work realities. Spaces such as the cafeteria, meeting rooms, collaboration booths and open spaces, with their exposed ceilings, are some of the areas of this project carefully built by Vector Mais.

The team provides financial and IT services globally, enabling our colleagues to focus on delivering ConvaTec’s Vision: Pioneering trusted medical solutions which improve the lives we touch.
As an organisation, we’re determined to ensure that we provide the best service, and that includes ensuring our employees´ experience is the best it can be. Accordingly, we designed our offices to offer a flexible and collaborative working environment and to support a combination of remote work and office work.
We’re looking forward to welcoming our team into the office once restrictions allow.
— Péter Villányi, Vice President, Global Business Services, ConvaTec
Vector Mais’ work was fundamental for the project’s implementation, and it was always easy to discuss progress and changes with their excellent team. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they ensured they met a tight deadline, and within the budget presented, using suppliers and products with high-quality standards. ConvaTec’s Global Business Services Centre now has its open space: modern, inspiring and colourful ready for colleagues to move in.
— Sandra Campino, Office Manager, Global Business Services, ConvaTec
There are more exciting challenges and projects than others. ConvaTec’s one was very appealing for several reasons.
It was essential to have an assertive client who presented us with clear objectives for the company’s first office in Portugal. Because it is spread over four floors in the same building, it forced us to creatively react when developing the architectural concept, enhancing its advantages and skillfully solving its disadvantages. The creative process was always dynamic, with a powerful connection between everyone and a client who shared the high expectations of his future workspace from early on and showed a genuine desire to offer their employees a protective place to work. The office is comfortable and already adjusted to the demands caused by the pandemic without removing the essentials. It’s a flexible and adaptable space designed for employees, generating efficiency and happiness for people, the most important asset of companies.
— Nélson Paciência, Associate Director, CBRE
